The Cincinnati Bengals are reportedly signing quarterback Reid Sinnett amid Joe Burrow’s injury.
Burrow suffered a calf strain in practice last week, and is expected to miss several weeks. The Bengals are currently 2-1, and are looking to stay competitive in the AFC North while Burrow is out.
Sinnett is a former undrafted free agent who has spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins, and Philadelphia Eagles. He was most recently with the San Antonio Brahmas of the XFL.
Sinnett is not expected to start, but he will provide depth behind backup quarterback Brandon Allen. The Bengals are also reportedly considering signing former NFL quarterback Will Grier.
The Bengals are hoping that Burrow will be able to return in time for the playoffs, but they want to make sure they have enough depth at quarterback in the meantime.
Sinnett is a young and talented quarterback, and he has the potential to develop into a solid NFL player. However, he is still very inexperienced, and it is unclear how well he would play if he were forced to start.
