Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith left the game against the New York Giants on Monday night with an apparent knee injury.
Smith was injured on a scramble play in the second quarter. He was tackled by Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, and his right knee appeared to buckle. Smith was able to walk off the field under his own power, but he was later ruled out of the game.
Drew Lock replaced Smith as the Seahawks’ quarterback.
Smith’s injury is a big blow to the Seahawks. He has been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL this season. He has thrown for 1,169 yards and 11 touchdowns in four games.
The severity of Smith’s injury is not yet known. He will undergo an MRI on Tuesday to determine the extent of the damage.
If Smith is out for an extended period of time, the Seahawks will have to rely on Lock to lead their offense. Lock is a talented quarterback, but he is also inexperienced. He has only started four games in his career.
Geno Smith went into medical tent and seems to still be in it.

The Seahawks are hoping that Smith’s injury is not serious and that he will be able to return to the field soon. However, they will have to prepare for the possibility of being without their starting quarterback for an extended period of time.
