Justin Fields Blamed 1 Thing For His Poor Performance Over The Weekend

Justin Fields blamed his poor performance against the Buccaneers on his inability to protect the football. Fields threw two interceptions and lost a fumble in the game, which the Bears lost 27-17.

“I’ve got to do a better job of protecting the ball,” Fields said after the game. “I can’t give the other team extra possessions. That’s on me.”

Fields’ interceptions were both costly. The first one came in the second quarter, and it led to a Buccaneers touchdown. The second one came in the fourth quarter, and it sealed the game for the Buccaneers.

Fields’ fumble also came in the fourth quarter. He lost the ball on a sack, and the Buccaneers recovered it and scored a touchdown a few plays later.

Fields’ performance against the Buccaneers was a step back from his performance in Week 1. In Week 1, Fields threw for 231 yards and a touchdown in the Bears’ win over the Texans.

Fields is still a young quarterback, and he is still learning. He has made some mistakes this season, but he has also shown some flashes of brilliance.

The Bears are hoping that Fields will continue to develop and become a franchise quarterback. He has the potential to be a great player, but he needs to protect the football better.

My Thoughts

I agree with Fields that he needs to do a better job of protecting the football. Two interceptions and a lost fumble are too many turnovers for any quarterback, but especially for a young quarterback who is still developing.

Fields has shown that he has the talent to be a good quarterback. He has a strong arm and he is mobile. However, he needs to be more careful with the ball if he wants to be successful in the NFL.

I am hopeful that Fields will learn from his mistakes and become a better quarterback. He has the potential to be a franchise player for the Bears.
